HBCU/College Exposition 10 October 2009

The 2009 Expo was held at the Roane State Community College Oak Ridge campus -- over 100 attendees were there to hear Dr. Wanda Costen of the University of Tennessee give the facts about making it in school and in life!  A panel of professionals, including engineer Sanchez Harley (pictured above) described their career path, educational experiences, and lifestyle. 

We shared information from HBCUs and local colleges that continue to offer in depth resources to our youth.  And yet again we provided valuable workshops to East Tennessee students and their parents.

Our mission is to inspire students in East Tennessee to plan and pursue successful professional careers. 

 College representatives are present at the college fair with information and admissions materials; professional speakers conduct special workshops on ACT/SAT preparation, scholarships, financial planning and preparing for college. There is also a parent roundtable session for parents and adults.
